Call 0407 977 529As the oven electrician for Sale, Victoria — postcode 3850 — and across Wellington Shire, we connect and install electric ovens, cooktops and rangehoods. To be clear about what we do and do not do: we are electricians, not whitegoods repairers. We do the licensed electrical connection — the dedicated circuit, the isolation switch, the cable, the connection to the appliance — but we do not diagnose or repair faulty oven elements, thermostats or controls. If your oven is not heating, that is a whitegoods job; if you have a new oven that needs connecting, or an old circuit that needs upgrading for a new oven, that is us. We are the local Sale and Wellington electrician, not a Latrobe Valley contractor.
Oven and cooktop connection in Sale
The common jobs are connecting a new electric wall oven or under-bench oven, installing a new ceramic or induction cooktop, and running a dedicated circuit for a new appliance. Electric ovens and cooktops draw a heavy load, so they need a dedicated circuit on the right-sized cable with an isolation switch near the appliance — not just plugged into a regular power point. In the older weatherboard homes around the Sale CBD and along the Raymond, York and Foster Street spine, the existing oven circuit is often old and undersized, so a new oven means a new circuit and sometimes a switchboard upgrade to make room for it. In the 1970s brick homes in Guthridge and Sale North, the circuit may be there but the isolation switch and connection need bringing up to standard.
Induction cooktops are increasingly popular on the newer Wurruk estates, and they draw more than a ceramic cooktop — often 7 kW or more — so the circuit and the board have to be assessed for the load. We do that load check, run the correct cable, fit the isolation switch, and connect the appliance. For commercial kitchens — cafes and pubs on the Raymond Street spine — we do commercial oven and equipment connections on three-phase where required.
Safe, certified connections
Every oven and cooktop connection is on a dedicated circuit, RCD-protected where required, with a labelled isolation switch, and we issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety. If the new appliance needs a circuit the board cannot support, we will tell you up front and quote the board work. See the FAQ for oven-vs-repair questions.
We connect ovens across the shire — Maffra, Stratford, Yarram, Wurruk, Longford, Rosedale and Heyfield.
